Arsenal are preparing a big-money offer to try and sign Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the Gunners are ready to “step up the pace” in their bid to secure the signing of the French striker this summer.
The same story claims that Arsenal are ready to pay Lyon a transfer fee of around £50m for the striker and are willing to place the 26-year-old forward on a big-money contract worth £200,000 a week.
The article also claims that Arsene Wenger and Gunners chief executive Ivan Gazidis met with Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas this week to discuss a deal for Lacazzette.
The report also states that Lacazette has been on Wenger’s shopping list for more than a year.
Lacazette was in fine form for Lyon last season as he scored 37 goals in all competitions for the French side.
Arsenal are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Wenger looks to transform his side into title challengers next season.
The Gunners completed the signing of left-back Sead Kolasinac from Schalke on a free transfer on Tuesday.
